there was a very noticeable difference once i was off of it, so if this is something youre struggling with id recommend it. there are some downsides but it was personally worth it.

different for everyone of course, but it started to bounce back a bit after idk maybe a year or two. though its a bit different now than it was pre-hrt. also stopping spiro later helped a lot

MUG aren't tankies theyre kautskyists, red star are tankies, liberation are worse tankies

he did a half hearted flipped on it when he was up for vp consideration, but obviously by that point it no longer mattered

he has a pretty bad record on labor. was one of the three holdouts on the pro act

think this is the special 250th independence anniversary plate not the state leg one

im not speaking for my caucus here (which i have frequent disagreements with) or anyone from nyc, but my feeling is that given the political climate, 2026 is the year to try more long shot attempts--not out of a sense of agitation, but precisely that more of them will work than i think we anticipate
November 23, 2025 at 3:20 PM
voters are consistently exceeding expectations (and i dont mean this just with nyc and zohran, everywhere), and so i think our shared (and deep) analysis of how voters traditionally behave is actually hurting our understanding of what will "work." ive been repeatedly caught off guard here in ME
November 23, 2025 at 3:20 PM
i was personally somewhat ambivalent about the chi endorsement, and really thought whatever nyc decides seemed like the right thing to do, but i don't think that this is true. the contours of the political moment suggest we should be throwing way more against the wall to see what sticks

the main ways you can see this are a.) smc's approach to coalition work and b.) the way they center fighting the far right.

post-maoism isnt a phrase anyone necessarily uses, i just personally think its useful to clarify how the political theory of the various camps has evolved since the cold war
November 23, 2025 at 3:06 PM
as the new communist movement waned, a number of maoists moved rightward and became enthusiastic backers of jesse jackson and the rainbow coalition. smc is (at least partially) directly influenced by this tradition, as there is overlap between smc and liberation road, which split from frso

it needed 60%
November 23, 2025 at 4:19 AM
not only that but it was the highest % for a dem gubernatorial candidate since 1982. but her approval in 2022 was more like +20, totally different ballpark compared to today
November 23, 2025 at 1:07 AM
she used to be popular, but her approval has been in decline, then plummeted after the trump incident, and then again after she announced her senate run
