Offering Compline this night for the new Archbishop: wisdom, humility, and courage.
For survivors: safety and justice.
For queer Christians: belonging without fear.
For women in ministry: truth not tokenism.
And for the Church: repentance, healing, and grace.

Today is the Confirmation of Election of the new Archbishop of Canterbury.

It’s hard—for survivors, for queer Christians, for those whose trust in the Church is fragile. And it’s good—the significance of a woman in this role, and what that represents.

Pray for the ABC, we must.

Happy Burns Night to all who celebrate.

May your haggis be bold, your poetry dramatic, your whisky generous, and may nobody actually understand the Scots you’re quoting—and love it anyway.

A week of interviews ahead. One on Tuesday that has my whole heart hopeful — it would be perfect.

Prayers and interview tips welcome, friends.

Is this for sale somewhere? I’m a coach and part of my work is helping churches get better at “making room” — love that phrase, btw.

The final copy of my book arrived today.
It grew out of my master’s thesis and the questions it wrestled with — belonging, dignity, and who the Church makes room for.

It’s out in two weeks, and holding it feels both unreal and unmistakably real.

Just finished listening to the audiobook of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, a few years after I last read it. Still uncomfortably apt for a world where control keeps getting mistaken for care.

I arrived in the Church of England bruised, convinced God had turned his face from me. It was there I learned, slowly, that he had not.

And once I learned my worth is not conditional, not provisional, not up for debate, I realised I could not stay.
