In fact, the care partner is such an important source of information that many studies actually require a care partner to participate in addition to the person living with Lewy.

Program Description
The MDS-PAS Genetics of Movement Disorders course offers a comprehensive exploration of genetic movement disorders, with a focus on diagnostic strategies, clinical interpretation, and collaborative research opportunities across the Pan-American section.

— Want to do something to fight back against a neurodegenerative condition, or

— Want to minimize suffering for future generations from
neurodegenerative conditions.

— Want to do whatever he/she can to support research for a cure for any neurological disorder,

— Want to honor a family member’s battle with a neurological disorder,

Brain donation may be especially appealing to those who:

— Have received multiple, conflicting diagnoses, making the diagnosis uncertain, have received one diagnosis from a neurologist but the intended donor or family thinks this is an incorrect diagnosis,

These challenges are especially true for historically excluded groups and those who face financial, geographic or structural obstacles to care.

Together, they discuss the importance of therapy in dementia care, the barriers to access, the development of new therapist competencies, and the lived experience of psychotherapy from both clinical and personal perspectives.

In this episode, host Dr Anna Volkmer is joined by Dr Alys Griffiths, Sophie Jeffery, and Esther Whittlesea Reed to explore a two-year Alzheimer’s Society project testing psychotherapy for people with dementia.
