If these people weren't MAGA trolls deliberately following the CIA's "Simple Sabotage Field Manual" to hinder anti-ICE activity, I suggest they read that book in order how to learn to STOP doing everything it says.

That's a really crisp, clean transfer for what I assume must be an old VHS source. Congrats!

"openly breaking with her boss's policy would have very serious consequences!"

Yes yes, fearing consequences of a controversial decision is *USUALLY* how cowardice works.

Saying they're going to RIG the election is Doomerism.

Saying they're going to TRY is just belaboring the obvious.

I grew up immersed in science fiction fandom as a kid because my dad didn't just "collect" the books, he rented vendor space in conventions, and I got recruited to lug boxes around. (oh man, the costumes girls wore in the early 80s...)

I still like the FICTION, but I can pass on "other fans" now.

Change often ends up ~being~ incremental, but not all change is achieved by a plodding, deliberate strategy of "incrementalism".

If you start negotiations with "I'll accept one-tenth of what I really want, for now" you pre-emptively eliminate the chance of getting HALF of it off the bat.

Wait, his name wasn't even mentioned INDIRECTLY? I would have expected at least some frothy rage about him wearing tan suits, or whatever.

My taste in comics mostly ran towards weird indie stuff like Yummy Fur and Dirty Plotte but I did like some more mainstream stuff by Seinkewitz.

Years after losing track of New Mutants, I saw an issue and nostalgically thought "hey, what are they up to?"... and it was the death of Warlock. DAMMIT!

The first and last time I felt "this isn't the show I grew up with!" like a punch in the guts was Christopher Eccleston as Doctor Who, and even then I had the self-awareness to recognize the absurdity that half of what I hated was alien planets NOT looking like British rock quarries.

I was annoyed when I had to turn off my adblocker to read the article.

Then I was amused/horrified when the ads the article was so insistent on me looking at were ads for a ~tropical island getaway~.

I'm sure AI was involved in this little bit of "targeted advertising".

"satire isn't satire, it's actually...."

(proceeds to describe satire exactly)

I want to see every democrat in the next primary channeling *exactly* this attitude when it comes to gun control issues.

Hmmm... when will David Hogg be old enough to run for president?

"wait, did I say money and politics? I meant sports and weather!"

Most people in the files desperately want to minimize their culpability. "I only went to a few parties! Nothing illegal!"

I have to wonder if Elon's deepest fear is that he will be exposed as not being *invited* to the most exclusive cliquey inner circle of a secret club for evil billionaires.

I just googled "the Green Scare", and it sounds like a bunch of people getting arrested for ARSON.

If you want people to hear you've been arrested and think "wow, that's a bullshit pretext!", maybe avoid committing arson.

If someone told me a month ago that I'd be on WILL STANCIL's side of an argument against leftists, I'd think they were crazy. But here we are.

A popular movement thrives on ATTENTION, not secrecy. Trump has a million ways to penetrate "opsec", but he can't arrest an entire city for hating him.

I split the difference: I'm OPTIMISTIC that Chuck Schumer will be flung into the Potomac.

Now let's be fair, Homan doesn't want anyone to die..... especially not the parents and children he separates.

How could he enjoy their suffering, if they're just dead?
January 29, 2026 at 2:40 PM
Homan is the guy who first proposed separating immigrant children from their parents as a matter of policy in 2014.

He wasn't "just following Trump's orders", this was under the Obama administration.

if he "doesn't want anyone to die" it's because he wants them to SUFFER more.

If you told me yesterday that spineless Democrats were about to put ANY sentence together with "abolish" and "ICE" in it, I would have been skeptical.

I feel like I'm watching a frog sing and dance, and you're complaining that the term "Hello My Ragtime Gal" is problematic.

It would be funny to ask Kyle Rittenhouse to ENDORSE a gun control law, but merely naming one after him has the boringly un-ironic interpretation that he typifies the problem the bill is designed to solve.
