Googles: Largest sugar exporters in the world

Oh. Yeah that explains it

100% I just think it's a weird to say "restraint is a new option" when it's literally not. It's actually always been an option. We're a social species; without restraint - verbal or physical - we aren't here right now.

The word decorum as we understand it, which is essentially what this article talks about, is from the 16th century. And the basis for its roots are traced to Cicero. The concept of public restraint/decorum/politeness isn't new. Self censure is as old as time. Not sure what he's getting at.

What is "very recently?" to you?
September 5, 2025 at 9:49 PM
Restraint is a commonly held virtue in historical media, religion, philosophy, etc. It's a skill that parents, teachers, coaches etc teach kids. Or used to anyway, idk. Seems like the social media world has devalued it.

And big customers don't just approve price increases! We have to go through entire, individualized processes, and we're at the point we have to give a % of weight and value of steel and aluminum content and can "only" raise prices by those values

2) At my job we've lost more productivity to tariffs nonsense than anything ever before. It's worse than the COVID supply chain issues
August 30, 2025 at 12:45 PM
1) Changing prices week to week is an incredible amount of work depending on which tariffs you're paying. It's very very difficult to keep track of what inventory has come in at what charge and it's even more difficult to update your entire system each time a change happens.

I'm begging Republicans to pass tariffs into law. Anyone who does any sort of importing knows how big of a mess this has been and I've seen people already flip on Trump because of it. It's a losing issue.

Never

This line if thinking just makes my point. You can be aligned nearly perfectly but the discourse here insists that one (slightly) differing opinion on a small fraction of a complex political issue makes you one of "them"

Stomping out nuance isn't productive.

Because he literally doesn't say that he "wants to set a limit at 26"
August 29, 2025 at 6:02 AM
The Nazi was bringing up his concerns and stated ages that people can do things, yes. Did Newsom riff of that and say the brain isn't developed until 26? Yes. Did he say he wants to set a limit at 26? No.
August 29, 2025 at 5:59 AM
For the record I don't agree with the general idea that anyone needs to wait a predetermined amount of time. Those decisions should be left to families and doctors. But I also didn't come out of that video going "he wants people to wait until they're 26"
August 29, 2025 at 5:57 AM
I mean did we watch a different video? You're kind of filling in some blanks there with your imagination
August 29, 2025 at 5:48 AM
I mean that's not what he actually said though. All he implied was that the brain isn't developed until 26. I get the implication but it's not like he's pushing policy on it. If he does then shame on me I guess.

I just feel like we can agree on 99/100 things but for some reason that's not enough
August 29, 2025 at 5:43 AM
I mean no. It's not a divine opinion that there shouldn't be any rules regarding trans persons participation in gender specific sports.
August 29, 2025 at 4:58 AM
We know this isn't an argument tho right? If charlie kirk also happens to like hamburgers can I not eat them anymore?

I get what you're saying but I also don't think you're taking his record into account. Which speaks more than words.
August 29, 2025 at 4:56 AM
That doesn't make it right to categorize an LGBTQ person as being a "wrong" version of themself. There is no "right" way to be gay or trans. Surely you can concede that point.
August 29, 2025 at 4:55 AM
I think it's fine to dislike him. I just think it's extreme to call him a transphobe and spend time going after him when we have actual fascists running the government. I guess a long time ago that was my original point.
August 29, 2025 at 4:45 AM
I'm literally talking about the latter. I've seen it with both. With Buttigieg people hate that he's not "gay enough"

I've seen tons and tons of people say he's not gay enough. And I'm a dude who fucks dudes so can I say that or do I have to be quiet about that too?
August 29, 2025 at 4:43 AM
It's not just criticism. It's literally people saying they're "bad" versions of their communities.
August 29, 2025 at 4:29 AM
And not every trans person agrees that Newsom is a transphobe... I'm not trans but I am queer. I'd hope that you can acknowledge that trans people aren't a monolith, just like gays/pan/bis/aces/aros/enbys etc aren't either.
