For months and months I said Trump was going to arrest and imprison his enemies and I think people just thought I was being alarmist. He will absolutely put them all away to feed his disturbing, sick mind. He’s becoming more and more dangerous and mentally ill. #Projection

Ah yes, nothing says “stable global leadership” like a panicked rat faced fuck with three buttons: BLAME OBAMA, BLAME THE MEDIA, or START A FUCKING WAR. This is less “strategy” and more “dementia raccoon locked in the Oval Office.” 🐀💥

Just added miniaudio as a backend to my C# audio stretching project - and it works beautifully. So now we have OpenAL and miniaudio, changable by a single enum.

I'm so grateful to be standing on the shoulders of giants.

While it's fair to link Fred's first album Actual Life:

It'd be wrong to not also link his incredible live Tiny Desk Concert:

Going back to Fred Again, it turns out he's classically trained - and that kinda makes sense. How incredible to be able to work with Brian Eno?!

I dug further into Amyl and the Sniffers, and they're great! Also, wow... the vocalist Amy Taylor is an absolute live wire!

Love the energy! =D

I'd heard _of_ Amyl and the Sniffers before (it's quite a name), but hadn’t really listened to them - then I heard "You're a Star" and the snare work instantly caught my ear! Turns out it was produced by Fred Again - and it all starts to make sense...

16x real-time stretching of 24-bit audio input with a 10-band preset (so 10 separate FFT passes - at multiples of the largest per smaller band) - on an emulated Android API 28 AVD - on a 7 year old PC - and it's using 10% CPU. Ten percent!

Very surprised how much I was able to get this dialed in 😌

Coding in 2026, part 5 - BURSTing to 1.5% CPU after SIMD optimisation. When I first started this audio processing it was like 50-60% CPU and 1GB of RAM - now it's ~1% CPU and 200MB RAM. Still a few leaks, but wow... getting there.

Happy with the recent progress on my real-time GPU-driven fractal flame animation project! The video is transcoded from the built-in animated GIF creation facility - so each frame only uses 256 colours, max - but it's still looking pretty swish!

'Computors', not just 'plugboard operators'. You should read Proving Ground by Kathy Kleiman or The Innovators by Walter Isaacson.

Kay McNulty invented the subroutine concept to better use logic circuit capacity. (Harvard Symposium in Jan 1947).

Before Wheeler Jump subroutine method of 1951.

The first time Charlie Chaplin spoke onscreen, he implored the people of the world to resist the rising tide of fascism.

Nearly 90 years later, it remains a timely message.
