WOTC is on a really bad streak the last year or so of putting 1-2 really fucked up cards in every set. Badgermole Cub is looking like it's the newest addition to the 5ish design mistakes to come out of standard sets in the last year, and that cut off isn't counting Bloomburrow or Duskmourn.

My hot take from the arena powered cube is game play would be much better without power.

The nonstop barrage of shit ads finally got me to delete twitter off my phone. I want the magic content, but not at the cost of every third thing on my feed being AI, sports betting or temu ads

There should be a hard rule that if your power cube deck doesn't have any power and your opponent does, you automatically get to be on the play. I just lost 3 games in a row on the draw against opponents who had t1 mox and nothing I did all 3 games mattered even the slightest

Thanks in large part to the bans, I'm pretty hopeful for standard and like a lot of what ATLA set brings to the format. UW tempo flyers with momo and Aang looks good, even if the mana sucks. Badgermole cub can be nuts in UG Jackal. UR lessons seems like a real budget deck that's not embarrassing.

It’s odd they banned heartfire hero in pioneer, as all the numbers I see on the deck in pioneer show it has bad win rates despite being the most popular deck.

They did much better than I expected on the ban update. Didn’t quite go as far as I’d like, but still pleasantly surprised. B+

I don’t have faith anymore that they will make changes that will save standard, so instead I’m just hoping for a modern mass unban in today’s announcement

I do not think Comet is a good cube card, but it can be a very funny cube card. I just rolled x3 sixes into x4 low rolls for tokens, then untapped and rolled a 5 for lethal.

My biggest complaint about the cube is the choice to give out random ass packs from literally any set as prizes. Is it too much to ask to just keep it to the special cube packs?

Made it to plat today from bronze over 7.1 drafts (I've only played 1 game of draft 8). Have gone without opening a single piece of power in all the drafts combined, and still only had 3 pieces of power total that were all passed to me. Please WOTC intern, let me open the good cards too 😭

I always forget that vintage cube is only fun if you get power and my hit rate on power is exceptionally low. Cube is very not fun with that much imbalance between decks.
I'm currently 7 drafts in on the arena cube and have had a total of 3 pieces of power, all of which were passed to me.

Haven't played limited on arena in months because of spiderman, so I'm doing a good old bronze to mythic race using the cube. First deck was a 7-2.

Is there a reason why WOTC doesn’t sell proxy cubes? I would gladly pay hundreds of dollars to get a paper cube at a click of button. Ease of access is the only real thing holding back cube

I really hope we get at least a few standard bans in the next update. Even if nothing is as problematic as Vivi cauldron, there’s still a bunch of decks that just aren’t very fun and the format would be better off without.

This event is yet another friendly reminder that no matter how dominate the best deck is, leyline is always the most busted thing to do in standard

Walking the top tables at Baltimore and mono red looks real bad against good vivi players. I’m not saying it’s the worst choice ever, but if you think your stock mono red deck is favored against a good prepared vivi player… I got some bad news
