is this a cry for help? not really. i'm just shouting into the void, because i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one in this situation. it seems benign, even charitable, until you realize you can never get out and your parents are still the gaslighting control-obsessed people they always were.

little confidence left in myself or my own life choices that i stay here and rot. i hate it here. it is killing me. but also my dog costs money and if i lose her that's probably the end for me.

never, ever, ever let me leave. every time they say they'll help me financially so i can move to a city with jobs i'm trained for, or a school program i got into, they start micromanaging, telling me i'm not grateful enough, and ultimately change their minds.

i don't talk about this because i think it's insane, but i had to come home during the pandemic and the one job i've had since then laid off everyone and closed shop.
and i can't afford to live on minimum wage, no one can. so i ended up here. my parents love having me around. and they will
