A different example where it seems more evenly matched. Seems Bandcamp just gives me whatever currency the seller has specified though, feels random.

Doesn't Steam mandate that if you sell a game on Steam, it should not be more expensive than elsewhere? If that is the case, it is not applied to soundtracks, even if the content appears to be the same. Maybe I should not buy them on Steam, eh? 🤔 I haven't used Bandcamp much yet, though, but might.

Just installed a PS5+PSVR2, I think I'll have to look for controller boosters, again. I'm a bit concerned with the Frame controllers, more of the same probably.

Right, actually setting up a page now. Regardless if anyone decides to join that, it'll at least be an outlet for all things coding. They do _not_ yet integrate with this platform, which is a shame 🫤 It's the only one I wanted to add 😅

I'll probably aim at publishing it in the new year, why not. 🙃

This is a potential logotype for "BOLL's VR Toolkit" that I'm working on!

I still have a full time day job so progress will be slow, but I'm considering setting up a Patreon for development updates, lessons learned and code examples 💭

That should be OK using non-commercial Jetbrains IDEs, right? 🤔

My wishlist does have a game discounted, and I have no email on in-app notice regarding. I guess they don't actually want to sell PCVR titles, or ever did?

I also looked through the spam folder for this one as I figured it would be recent enough to still be in there in case it got filtered.

I noticed this icon had appeared on my desktop, apparently the new desktop application name, which I still have installed as I at some point want to play Lone Echo 2.

Thing is, I have the notifications on, but have never been notified about any discount from the store. Has anyone ever seen that? 🤔

Tried using my old G27 in Roadcraft, not supported but almost worked, and felt like the way to play 🚛

Tried out MudcraftVR, no wheel support, binary interactions done by gestures, not 1:1.

I just wanted to drive off road with good wheel support in VR, but they made it a motion controller title 🤔

I played the original Oculus DK1 Crashland demo and loved it.

No standalone headset at hand, so haven't played v1.x, but the FAQ does say a PCVR version of v2.0 should become a thing, at some point. I definitely look forward to it. ☺️

I still have the v0.3 demo files from more than a decade ago 😅

Hmm. I guess the community page for SteamVR is not in use much, I only got to it as I was linked from Valve's dev wiki. It hasn't seen a new post since 2018 😅 Still contains imagery for the original Steam Controller and Machine. Whelp! steamcommunity.com/steamvr

Is this what happens when Microsoft uses AI for a third of their new code eh? Seems to be working out just fine... yeah: no.

What happens when work has been very stressful and suddenly that project is finished and I'm left completely brain dead? Abusing my PC in stupid ways of course.

In anticipation of the Steam Frame, I tried just how it is to use the game theater in SteamVR. The game itself has a nice reflection, but any other spawned overlays do not. Overlays cannot be easily moved away either, it's 1:1 only, and windows off screen can be displayed but not interacted with. 🙃

A screenshot of albums registered in Winamp. Problematic names:

1. None
2. MP3
3. Soundtrack
4. WAV

This is one of the main reasons that motivated my open letter. I'm creating a soundtrack harmonizing solution now, it just relies on a pull request to Depot Downloader that hasn't been approved yet.

Working on a new logo thing... not sure, this has been in my head for a while, it's pretty simple and hopefully explains what has become my username in various places.

I have eight soundtracks that are completely empty. Five out of these will get files if I turn on downloading of high fidelity files, not otherwise even if verifying.

The last three, I've checked with DepotDownloader, does not even have any depots. Two of these are still sold on Steam, baffles me.

This is _nine_ soundtracks all installing into the generic folder /Soundtrack

Five of them at least have sub directories but four have their files straight in the root. This screws up enqueuing by folder, and default files like cover.png/jpg can then be conflicting between albums.

Bonus: Soundtack

Oh searching worked! Will be hard for artists like Danger though, love the Haven soundtrack ✨

The other one that stood out to me. For obvious reasons.

Hah, the current Steam sale has some funny stickers you can get by going through the discovery queue, that I will never use as I basically never use Steam chat, but they are neat to see anyway.

I feel like this is an inside joke for the developers. It's not... overflow, but close enough.
October 5, 2025 at 12:31 PM
This soundtrack comes with one hidden track and two .wav mixes. These will never be seen or played if you use the player in the Steam client, but would get picked up by enlisting in a third party media player.

This showcases how chaotic the file delivery can be, it seems like anything goes. 🙄
October 5, 2025 at 11:46 AM
This soundtrack installs to the Steam root folder on C: while Steam itself says it is on my data disk E:

The browse button still opens C: and it will play in the Steam client.

This fills up my system drive, and excludes the files from my media player, as they are not in the expected music folder.
October 5, 2025 at 8:59 AM
Oh right I should take a look at this during the sale... oh yeah, never mind.
October 4, 2025 at 3:57 PM
This might become a long series, we'll see. This soundtrack doesn't report the right track lengths.

Here something that is listed as 24s is more than 2m when played back, I am guessing faulty meta data that is still used instead of checking media length. Happens for multiple tracks.
October 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM
Guess I can fill this place with soundtrack issues. I think I finally bumped into one that doesn't even work in the Steam client player. No tracks are displayed, no total time, not which file is currently playing, although it does play and progress through the files! On disk things looks OK... ? 🤔
