i've been considering getting a Regal jumping spider as a pet, but I then I read that they only live 2-3 years at most, and there is no way I'm bonding with a sweet, intelligent arachnid only to lose them that quickly.

the more i read about jumping spiders, the more it sounds like evolution took a bong hit and was like "whoa man... what if some spiders were more... mammalian???"

fell down a rabbit hole about how jumping spiders can be kept as pets because 1) they're intelligent and very curious about humans 2) are very low maintenance as long as they're kept stimulated by their surroundings 3) designing their little terrariums can be an art form:
