It's nothing to do with moral values.
Regular immigration is about what the country wants to add for the sake of its own prosperity, always has been for any country in the world. Otherwise, it wouldn't give out visas at all.

It's not discriminatory because it's entirely at a country's discretion what kind of immigration it wants.
Regular immigration is never done for the sake of the people immigrating…so I don't understand the issue with this.
A person decides to immigrate (or not) based on the rules at the time.

Yes indeed that's how it felt living in the UK at the time to me, watching the daily figures and the graph creeping up and up…and up…and still no action!

I think recently with the grooming gangs they were saying it's not possible to have both a judge-lead inquiry and trial simultaneously.
So if you were being most optimistic you could say that the inquiry findings would be a great starting point for deciding whether criminal charges are needed.

As far as I can tell the excuse seems to be to increase cooperation with the inquiry!? 🤷♂️
