Last year I saw Burna Boy at a capacity 20,000 venue in famously "racist" Boston, and he's playing there again in a month. Tems played a 7000 person venue. This music is reaching people somehow. (for scale, Polachek played a 3500 capacity venue)

What people often fuss about with the stagnation is the lack of "local scenes", like Minneapolis, Manchester, whatever. And I don't disagree. But your post hits it right on, the "local scenes" are now global scenes, you have to think bigger.

When I glanced at the quote going around I thought by the way people were talking that he was making a sweeping generalization. When I looked closer I saw he was only talking about himself. What’s the big fuss?
