My series of watercolor winter scenes is in full swing. Love my studio but it’s missing one thing...a studio cat.

Playing in the studio again today. Fire going and a fresh pot of coffee. My favorite kind of day.

Sketched from a closed car window and very cold outside. On the way to Stowe, Vermont. A quick sketch, a few research pix and I’m ready to start a new Watercolor painting.

Hi Anna - I love drawing a painting those small sketches. My teachers used to call them doodling (on my text books wrapped in brown butcher paper) Here’s another one.

Hi Susan It was interesting reading your column in today’s Stamford Advocate only to see Dennis Mahoney’s next to yours. Dennis and I are on the opposite ends of the political spectrum but we have managed to have a civil discourse over the years. Attached is my newest watercolor prelim sketch.

Starting a new watercolor painting today. Here is my rough sketch, hopefully working out all the possible errors in advance. This sketch sets the mood, composition and palette to be used.

A few trees out back. Quick sketches using an old Altoid tin fitted with White Nights watercolor blocks. A water brush is needed for alfresco.

I remember sitting for a few hours sketching Tower Bridge in London, with a thermos of black coffee and a good cigar. Just a few seagulls for company.

Hi Susan - Here is my new work. I prepare a small watercolor in my sketchbook to work out the details before starting a larger one. Deciding whether to add a couple or kids making a snowman. Decisions...decisions...
