Starting a new watercolor painting today. Here is my rough sketch, hopefully working out all the possible errors in advance. This sketch sets the mood, composition and palette to be used.

A few trees out back. Quick sketches using an old Altoid tin fitted with White Nights watercolor blocks. A water brush is needed for alfresco.

I remember sitting for a few hours sketching Tower Bridge in London, with a thermos of black coffee and a good cigar. Just a few seagulls for company.

I’m starting a new watercolor painting. Here is my small prelim sketch in my daily sketchbook to work out the details. Quite a few mistakes here, which I will correct in the final larger painting. Adding either couple or kids making a snowman.

Here’s the Lisbon Arch using just squiggles and scratches, no actual details. A fun way of sketching...what I feel as opposed to what I see.
