Board Game Replay - Matt

Board games are fun, I like them. I used to do YouTube stuff involving them. It was a good time.
That’s another good one! Never tracked that down but as far as the insert, I’m putting together the WoW one here - tabletop.kelsam.net/projects/sta...

The thing that’s tough is their files are meant for a 300x300x300 bed, which is…what?! I’m breaking things down into pieces and printing slowly :)

I can see that, the theme is very hot or cold for some! Our group wasn’t super into wrestling but I think the guy demoing at the GF9 booth sold it so well, haha. He was yelling and announcing moves and everything. Really nailed the theme!

Looks great! Have you played that one recently? Maaan we had so much fun with it, but it’s been a while! Will never forget picking that up at GenCon…I swear we played it a dozen times during the convention!

Very cool! I wasn’t sure I’d be into it but I’m very quickly seeing the appeal!

Haha I get that brother. I’m still not super enamored with the model / Gundam thing specifically…maybe I’ll get there? For now it’s just a cool looking mech suit that’s fun to put together :P

My first model was actually this SD / Chibi one. I built it before Xmas just to try it out (it was only $7 so
I thought it was a good start). I didn’t suuuper love putting this one together because it needed A LOT of delicate stickers that were pretty tricky to do correctly!

I was very pleasantly surprised by it. The combat and general objective systems feel great. There’s a nice balance between them and you get enough actions to split your time between both things. Set up is time consuming though. I’m tempted to leave this one here until next week!

Daaang those look great. Nice work! That’s gotta give the game so much more presence! The unpainted models are excellent but when those caves get crowed with that all grey plastic, it isn’t the best :)

So far they do seem to add some good content to the game. Bit more expensive one to get in the US after shipping though!

Excellent! @davefinkel.bsky.social grabbed it too…let’s do this!

I picked this up and it’s quite fun! Just playing with randoms is a good time but with a full table with buddies on voice chat would be a blast.

I agree with that thought.

Is that the promo pack? I don’t have that one but I’ve read that it does fit, just under the insert.

Doesn’t seem too bad to me? Maybe a little better than your standard deck of cards. Not a huge concern for me personally since it’s just a standard deck of 52 cards that are being shuffled and such. Worst case you can replace it or use a spare set of playing cards.

My kids are getting up there too…it’s kind of insane how fast it goes! Hoping I can eventually join another Granite Game Summit one of these days. I’d love to bring the kids next time!

I know, it’s been way too long! How have you been? Great to be able to follow and chat about all things board games again :)
