Even so, the climate that led to this controversy is deeply troubling—anti-Semitism and hostility toward Israel in the Netherlands remain serious concerns. We stand with the Dutch Jewish community in confronting them.

Under the new arrangement, the performance featuring Cantor Abramson will now be promoted as a private event. We appreciate that dialogue and compromise made this resolution possible.

Earlier, B’nai B’rith wrote to the Concertgebouw expressing deep concern over its discriminatory cancellation of the event because of Cantor Shai Abramson’s affiliation with the Israel Defense Forces.

Sexual violence was not limited to Oct. 7; it persisted long afterward for those brutally kidnapped that day and taken into Gaza. Since the U.N. was among those shamefully silent about this issue at the time, it is necessary that the organization listen carefully now.

This marks the first delay in the Summit’s history—underscoring the decline of multilateral engagement in the region and the urgent need for renewed cooperation.

We urge leaders across the Americas to recommit to constructive engagement and ensure that opportunities for collaboration are not lost.

As B’nai B’rith CEO Dan Mariaschin and our David Michaels reflect in JNS, “The United Nations has frequently devolved into a quasi-democratic institution hijacked by non-democracies for the most cynical of political purposes.”

Read their op-ed marking 50 years since that shameful vote:
50 years ago, with one vote, the UN set in motion today’s anti-Zionism
The autocrats and opportunists at the United Nations lob any conceivable canard at Israelis, no matter how brazen; from “apartheid” to “gender-based violence” to “Judaizing” Jerusalem.

We stand with B’nai B’rith Canada, @cijainfo.bsky.social and all the Canadian organizations in calling for Toronto’s integrity commissioner to investigate Chow’s hateful conduct carried out in her official capacity.

This blatant, reckless spread of a vicious falsehood—with anti-Semitism surging across the globe—echoes an age-old blood libel against Jews and threatens the safety and well-being of Toronto’s Jewish community.
