you can't see it well in the picture above, but the pen sits on my knuckle. You can actually see a callus that's developed there because of how abrasive chalk is (I'm a professor)

It's so disappointing that the telescopes at work have no realistic way to calibrate images. This crab nebula (M1) wasn't great to begin with, but the dust motes don't make it any better
