Shakespeare professor. Tired.
I collated a folder of video memes for inserting into lectures for online classes (have to keep things light and fun from time to time). This is one of the first I pulled:

Jim Henson studios would be wise to lean into this idea and do a full series of Muppet cinema/theater adaptations, all with McCorkindale's art as Criterion Collection-style DVD covers. I'd lead with King Lear (biased b/c it's the commission he did for me) or 12 Angry Muppets (a personal favorite).

I've never been a huge Batman fan, but Batman SotB was the one Bats series I actually collected, almost entirely due to those absurdly good Brian Stelfreeze covers. I remember seeing an issue on the LCS shelf from the God of Fear Scarecrow story, and the art just stopped me cold.

She's resigning exactly 2 days after she will have secured a full Congressional pension (they need to serve 5 years. January 5th will be 5 years and 2 days for MTG). She won't be able to start collecting it until she turns 62, but when she does she'll collect her full congressional salary for life.

She can't start collecting it until age 62, but that benefit will be secured on 1/3/2026. If she's really making a principled stand and fighting for Joe Taxpayer, let's see her move the effective resignation date to January 2nd. I'll be right over here not holding my breath on that one.

Y'all. Look at her resignation effective date. It's 5 years and 2 days since she first took office. A congressperson secures a full Congressional pension (the average of their 3 highest annual salaries) once they hit 5 years of service. She's secured her permanent paycheck, and now she's bouncing.

Never trust an O'Neil with no apostrophe and too many l's. :)

All of the line crossers happen to be Dems who are retiring or aren't up for re-election for years. This was strategic and we don't believe you. I'm from Rochester. Find your spine or be ready for a primary challenger. We aren't going to forget about this.

Yup. He's been back to being Speedball for awhile now. He was Speedball in Avengers Academy, and then again in the most recent New Warriors series (with him, Justice, Nova, Scarlet Spider, Sun Girl, and a few others).

That's my alma mater! If you get a chance, you have to pop up to the Robbins Library (up on the 4th floor of Rush Rhees Library). Amazing pre-modern collection and even more amazing people!

This is odd, as I 100% thought it was a word, too. The Oxford English Dictionary has listings for "Betterment" AND "Embetter" but not for "Embetterment." So weird.

Adorable pups!

I don't remember much about Wildstar, but I remember having a couple of issues as a kid and enjoying it. The star was a critter or something, right? I didn't realize Chris Marrinan was the artist on that book!

I just laughed so hard it scared my dog, hahaha.

I had completely forgotten about DNAgents. Pretty sure I had a few issues of this way back when.

Thanks for sharing this! There is so much going on in this image. It reminds me of a sort of futuristic version of Pieter Bruegel the Elder's Battle of Carnival and Lent.

That Rage at Granny Staples grave page drops me every time. As a kid, it was the first page (2-page spread, really) that showed me how powerful art could be. It didn't need a single word, but conveyed multitudes.

It definitely worked. I never read WC Avengers, but kid me owned this issue (which is usually an indication that I thought the cover was cool looking).

SAME! I actually looked it up before it got to the chorus, because I was really digging the folk vibe. ERUPTED laughing when I saw the title.
