so i don't see this as a victory rather than it being a thankfully missed bullet, but one that is simultaneously an obvious relief but also ominous for how it might be used. there is no victory until all are free

they are, drawing from the strategy used in britain, trying to carve the LGB away from the TQ, and triangulate pro-nationalist cis LGBs to act the attack dog element against trans people. so in this strategy, anti-transness and anti-abortion is not contradictory to retaining gay marriage.

when i say strategic opposition, i mean it in two senses: 1) overturning gay marriage being seen as "too much" and add to the resistance 2) overturning gay marriage reigniting the LGBTQ coalition. the trump admin's modus operandi has been clear for a while:

should it be the latter, it fulfills the prediction that homosexuality being a minor footnote to a heterosexual and heteronormative world as long as it can integrate itself into that means its social life is effectively entirely eradicated -- it is directly integrated into the national project
