I really enjoyed the Monk & Robot books! I discovered Becky Chambers last year and she's quickly become one of my favorites. She describes worlds and characters in a way that makes my heart hurt for how much I want to live there.

Sry I know Novik’s probably sick of her very good, much better books getting held up next to HP but that’s what this thread was about.

@naominovik.bsky.social’s Scholomance series is like if Hogwarts was actively, openly trying to kill its students, and it’s about (among other things) the school system we funnel kids through, what it’s actually for, and who it actually serves. So so so good.
