"AMERITRASH" WAS COINED IN 2006 ON BOARDGAME GEEK TO DESCRIBE GAMES THAT RUN LONG, ARE OPENLY COMPETITIVE AND ALLOW FOR CONFLICT. COSMIC ENCOUNTER AND HEROQUEST WERE CONSIDERED TYPICAL EXAMPLES BUT SOON IT WAS USED FOR ANY GAME WITH DIRECT PLAYER CONFLICT OR TONS OF DICE. I'D CLASSIFY IT AS A SLUR.
