Yeah, you're right. At this point. But if Dems keep failing (which is a certainty) and there's another emerging other option... You can begin that process.

I absolutely never said it would be easier.

So parties CAN be replaced?

Oh, you think we started with Democrats and Republicans?

1. They aren't electorally succeeding. Winning is not the end of the game. It's passing your agenda. Dems win then do nothing. That's what is angering people.
2. I don't know where you got the impression that I think this would be quick and easy. But if you never build it then it def won't happen.

Shove it up your ass, dude. All the way.

The distiction here is that it wasn't really a hostile takeover of the party. The GOP was heading for a Trump figure for decades and actively built up their reactionary faction. The Democrats actively oppose their left flank.
There's one example of a successful hostile takeover of a major party - Donald Trump - and it didn't happen by playing nice with the party bigwigs. Trump went to war with them, humiliated them. And now "Little Marco" works for him.

I guess I should have said since 09 rather than 2016. There's your collapse. The slow death of the Democrats.
And it's not that Dems can't win. That isn't the issue. It's what the Dems DO that is the issue. They get power and squander it. And they do that because they love the status quo.

I think we can do both. Support good candidates that run in the Dems AND build a separate party up until they can compete.

He really isn't. Just like AOC is not the party. They are outliers.
And I've already mentioned in this thread that the party needs to be built up. I'm not saying it's possible right now if elections were held for a third party to come through and win.

The party collapse has been happening since 2016. It's just accelerating right now because they are so limp dicked.

Mamdani isn't the party, unfortunately. If he was we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

We wouldn't have to bother at all if the Democrats were worth anything. They aren't so these are our options. We need an exit ramp from this party.

Right, that's why I'm saying they need to be built. I'm just pointing out that the DSA is probably further along with that than the Green party.

For sure, we'll need more than just that. I wouldn't count on that new party to bring us to liberation. BUT they could make the ground more fertile for it. They could, say, overturn the Taft-Hartley Act which would make it easier for general strikes and sympathy strikes to happen.
