NO DMS, please. The ultimate cinephile, along with some friends who don’t see as many films. We’ll mostly talk about the movies we’ve seen right after we see them. I also stream on twitch under blinkwave21, playing project sekai and reviewing movies.
Elizabeth Olson is by far the standout of the three main leads, she gets to really show off her range in a way that I’ve missed seeing from her. Miles teller also does an admirable job selling the charms of his character but this film is firmly held on the strong shoulders of Elizabeth Olsen. 7/10

Da’vine joy randolph and John early make for fascinating characters as afterlife coordinators Anna and Ryan, respectively, I love the way the marketing has helped expand this unique concept of selling eternities through the two of them.

They might find a lesson that is very much worth hearing. Nathan Johnson’s score is once again very good. 10/10

And only those outside of it, such as Thomas Haden church and Mila kunis’s characters, have the ability to be truly kind and give grace to others. The film’s story may seem sacrilegious to those who hold too closely to their faith but for those willing to open themselves to criticism

Ose within the cloth who spread hatred in the name of Christ’s love, misunderstanding the whole point of what Christianity is meant to represent. The church’s flock demonstrates the different ways that such preposterous preaching practices wound the heart and soul

Facets of the term. Josh O’Connor is the standout of the cast, delivering a performance that brings revelations about a faith that so desperately needs a reckoning. Josh brolin is the perfect opposite to O’Connor’s character, embodying the greed inherent in th

The film is full of big names in small roles and lesser known names whose presence is always a pleasure, such as Lenny Henry and Billy crudup. Greta gerwig is used sparingly but effectively, as one would expect from her husband. 7/10

Also not a surprise to me. The score by Nicolas britell was honestly my favorite of the film, it felt grand, melancholic and sweeping all at the same time. There is a chase scene in the second act that felt a bit abrupt, it could have used a bit more set up in my opinion.

Did which was more powerful to me, but your mileage may vary on that front. George Clooney does a great job, but that was to be expected, applauded but expected. Adam Sandler was also pretty good, but he has proven himself dramatically at this point so this was

Nina ye is adorable in this film, being a girl watching her family’s disfunction and still finding joy and a way to be herself in spite of her grandfather’s outdated beliefs. Shih yuan ma distinguishes herself from the traditional put upon mother by having her own secrets

This is an incredibly beautiful film, shot entirely on the same type of phone I’m using to write this review(an iPhone, btws), and capturing everything from a child’s innocence to the pain of a secret continuallly burning within you until it bursts.

Night market setting. Janel tsai is a real revelation in this film, carrying the twists and turns of her character’s story perfectly and becoming an actress I can’t wait to see more of in the future.

Clint Bentley deftly directs a screenplay Greg kwedar and shows that this team can be trusted with stories that show the beauty in places people overlook, making a followup to sing sing that will be remembered by audiences for years to come, especially if they saw it in a theater. 10/10

Gives his best performance of the year in this film, hands down, you get a whole life in less than 10 minutes and feel the pain of the loss quite deeply. Bryce desner’s score is a masterpiece and the song he made for the film with nick cave is very worthy of an Oscar nomination.

Felicity jones and Kerry condon are also absolutely incredible in this film, bringing warmth to a film that overwhelms with the power of the human spirit. Will Patton’s voice is perfect for narrating this story, making it feel like a campfire story. William h Macy

Max richter’s score was truly moving, subtle at moments while being more powerful in others but never in an overpowering way. Lukas zal does an amazing job capturing the beauty of the English countryside and contrasting that with the harshness of the growing city of London. 10/10

Of the powerful patriarch and playwright that was William Shakespeare. Noah Jupe also does an incredible job playing hamlet in the third act, delivering a performance that will make him even more memorable in the consciousness of the general populace.

Jesse Buckley has delivered her best performance yet(can’t wait to see her top this in Maggie gyllenhall’s The bride)and she is definitely worthy of at least a best actress nomination. Paul mescal is just as incredible, delivering a complicatedly compelling portrayal
