I love these rants, but I also agree with Max that most Albertans tune them out without hearing a word
Another year, another record high for Canadian oil and gas production. At some point, the oil and gas industry and its various proxies might want to face up to the fact that Liberal governments are actually good for their business. www.nationalobserver.com/2026/02/06/o...
Justin Trudeau never killed the oil and gas industry
The former prime minister's supposed hostility towards Alberta's defining industry is an article of faith among Canadian Conservatives. The facts tell a much different story.

If the next federal election is about affordability or the appetite for change, Pierre Poilievre still has a chance. But if it's about Donald Trump and who's best equipped to meet his threat, it'll be over before it even starts. www.nationalobserver.com/2026/01/23/o...
Pierre Poilievre just can't meet the moment
After two days of uncharacteristic silence, the Conservative leader finally found his voice. What he had to say was the same thing he's been saying for years.

Interesting take. Or, work with me here, I am convinced that an independent Canada is my most substantive need at this moment, and Carney will deliver that.
Your politics lack substance and conviction.

Canadians realize that. And believe that fits the moment. What perplexes you about that?
It’s perplexing to me that Canadians don’t realize Mark Carney is to the right of Stephen Harper. #cdnpoli

After months of trying to play nice with Donald Trump and MAGA world, Mark Carney decided to drop the hammer of truth on his rogue administration. What comes next will help determine Canada's place in the world — and whether it even has one. www.nationalobserver.com/2026/01/20/o...
Mark Carney just shook up the world
His speech in Davos might be the most important one ever delivered by a Canadian prime minister. Its consequences will determine his place in history — and ours.

What application? Mine seems to do everything needed
2/ I absolutely agree EV, solar, wind, are the way. But there are applications that, so far, EV has not stood up to. So far. It will take time for tech, and people, to evolve and adapt. A little patience is needed.

IMHO Stephen Hawking was right. Humanity is doomed due to greed and stupidity.

OK, let’s give it a one year no-tariff, no ticky-tacky ‘rules’ to exclude cheap imports. I’ll buy mine, you can buy yours, but I’m sure everyone else will de ide on ‘more expensive’, just like with Toyotas.

Well, sure, but also a lack of 100% tariff and close proximity of the global lead manufacturer helps a tom, too, in keeping the price down
Wrong way of thinking about it. Of those who can afford a new car in Nepal, most are buying BEVs

Petrol is a very expensive import there and domestic hydro electricity is cheap. Makes perfect sense
