Seems like Phil gave some instructions to avoid triggering those flags, so ive tried replacing my installer exe with a zip of the installed folder.

Wont undo my game being removed but i guess i can at least see if that actually helps prevent those issues.

Aniway, think i' ll be skipping this stream, at least for now. Whatever phil say or dont say about it, i dont think it will make me feel better.

But do enjoy yourself everyone. You' ve all worked hard for this and all deserve commendation for getting this far.

Dont really know how to make games for anything but windows yet
November 29, 2025 at 8:28 PM
oh and if you meant the typo, yeah i kind of do that one a lot.

Its one of those mandella effect where you are so used to the wrong word that the right one feels kind of wrong.
November 29, 2025 at 8:18 PM
Thats fine. Game design is a skill like any other. You gotta take it into practice to improve.

Its mostly about trying to think of the player and what they will or might do and plan accordingly to provide a certain experience.
November 29, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Yeah, you shouldnt get discouraged over this. You had an interesting game. Maybe it just wasnt quite the right fit for the jam.

Sometime you just gotta find the right audience for your stuff

thats a shame. I wish he at least provided a small comment describing the reason for each game being removed.

I understand that some standarts may have been necessary and i certaintly wouldnt want phil to play my game if he didnt want to, but not knowing what i did wrong really hurts.

Well yeah. The story of irredeamable was pretty much based on my general frustration with how a lot of people oversimplify the concept and tends to complain about humanising and redeeming vilains.

It very much is about "irredeamable isnt about what you' ve done, but why you wont stop"
November 29, 2025 at 7:49 PM
What makes a villain irredeemable isn't what they've done. It's the reason why they won't stop.

And that reason usually is found in the saddest, most pitiful, most human corner of a person's soul.

and ultimately, it also touches into one really major aspect of many vilains, patheticness.

Vox at his core is a loser, a man who is always chasing after the next rush of fame and power, because he can never be satisfied with what he has.
November 29, 2025 at 7:39 PM
Vox backstory in Brighter does a fantastic job showing the person behind the monster. His goals, his struggles, his success and failures.

It really capture the "a vilain is the hero of their own story" concept, by having you root for a guy murdering his competition to get to the top.
November 29, 2025 at 7:37 PM
and the semi-unintentional element that he can appear in the window that would be inside the player room, which makes absolutely no sense, but thats how Jeff roll.
November 29, 2025 at 7:30 PM
also i think there something really funny about playing hide and seek with a giant ass monster who just happens to blend into the dark background.
November 29, 2025 at 7:29 PM
yeah, while simple, i do like how the fight mechanics condition you to not be scared when you see him, but when you dont, which then set you up for the ending.
November 29, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Yeah, my brother worked on that one (as well as all of the good art)

Hes pretty proud of it
November 29, 2025 at 7:26 PM
Anyway, thanks for talking about it. It's nice to actually get to share some of the ideas and design behind it.
November 29, 2025 at 7:23 PM
There is also supposed to be this slow realisation that your main character isn`t actually some evil mastermind, but just a lazy asshole who ended the world because he didn't want to get off his chair.
November 29, 2025 at 7:21 PM
Another big moment is Jeff entreance as he is being given all this buildup, yet you arent really told what exactly you are supposed to be looking for when the fight start....

and like...how can you be prepared to just randomly see him...just standing there without any care for logic?
November 29, 2025 at 7:20 PM
A lot of the disappointment is that the game really was designed to provoke certain reactions, so not getting to see someone play really removes a lot of the fun for me.
November 29, 2025 at 7:18 PM
Yeah fair, ithink i could have been more clear about where the player room is in the minimap (the ennemies entreance are shown with rooms flashing red on the map, but that could be easy to miss too.)
November 29, 2025 at 7:16 PM
Fun fact, Jeff stops spawnings in the last 15-20 seconds of the fight.

I wanted to create a small moment of panic where players would frantically look everywhere to find him, only for the game to just suddenly resume as if nothing happened.
