Finished up chomper design. Hes pretty much play the same as the plant from the same name in plant vs zombies by gobbling up ennemies whole with a long cooldown.

Chomper is posted at the main doors, making it pretty much act as a player last resort

Many cases where corporations dont seem to know what the companies they buy specialize in and just end up shoving them in whatever trends they are trying to capitalize on.

That should also help give the rooms a little more personality by giving them different plants to use.

Plants usually come with cooldowns, especially the strong ones, so that should help prevent people from just camping the doors.

Been talking with my brother and since we agreed that the gameplay was a little boring, ive reworked it that plants now are located on specific spots of the maps and have to be triggered at the right time to damage or kill the ennemies

The main advantage of this formula is rather simple, focus. By having a single town, the game can deeply develop a few npc and create a strong feeling of isolation by having the rest of the game be hostile territory.

Alundra use a similar remplate, through with an overworld rather than a dungeon

kind of like vandal savage in that one episode of superman where he ends up in a future where he won and has nothing left to do but give himself, long arbitrary tasks to keep himself occupied (he built his own castle brick by brick for exemple)

I did have a concept for an immortal being tired of existing, but the idea behind it was that it was someone who had literally experienced every single thing that could ever change them, and everything now just feels like tiny variations of something they've already done.

Its also kind of funny how apparently humans cannot handle immortality in fictions, but gods and other naturally immortal beings always seem to be doing just fine.

I feel like you' d have to exist for an absurd amount of time before immortality becomes as tedious as it is often depicted. For someone to go mad or hoplessly bored after merely a few thousand years, they would have to be unwilling to be deeply uncurious.

Its always been absurd to not see the people of the painting as humans when Renoir, the very guy threathening their lives, does.

I do subscribe to the design philosophy where there's nothing wrong with being a little mean with your game at times, but a lot of those intentional annoyances should be skippable upon replay by utilizing your acquired knowledge of the game.

Probably will be a good idea in the long run. An overworld map helps contextualize the stages and establish the progression of the game as a journey rather than a series of unrelated levels.

I do wonder how you can design a romance system that encourage players to be honest and not just treat it as a game to win to see relationships develop organically but i wouldn't know how to make that happen myself.

I appreciated how mass effect would lock certain relationships behind being renegate/paragon as well as give certain characters a specific sexuality, but that also resulted in players having way less options to chose from.

Yet the reverse of that is being able to lie your way into any relationship.

Money is one major factor but there also the element that games are a cultural product and can therefore be used to promote Saudi Arabia as a brand worldwide.

This is the kind of value that can't be calculated in money.
