Picture in your mind the world you’d love to see the children you know grow up to inherit. I know you can think of all the obstacles in the way of that world. I’m asking you to challenge yourself to think of ways through & around them. Because the absence of progress isn’t proof of impossibility.

This was a great conversation & helped me understand better how you’re thinking about the shutdown, especially acknowledging how terrible the Dems are messaging. Couldn’t the online rage be understood in terms of latest visceral letdown by geriatric -bad communicator- not-up-for-this- leaders?

Let’s do a complete remake from the inside… Loving the work of @runforsomething.net and @workingfamilies.org … both have a good history of running younger, more diverse mobilized grassroots candidate who actually win a good percentage of the time. Let’s move ON from this feckless old guard.

I know many of us are tired, scared & angry. When you can, if you can, channel that into doing what you can to help. Every day it's more clear the only ones who are going to save us ... are us.

Whenever you start to say "people should do x," it's you. You're "people." We're "people." It's just us.

3) keep doing on the ground work to support our local communities against the terror of ice, SNAP hunger and now healthcare funding phew … reading @mskellymhayes.bsky.social and @prisonculture.bsky.social among other incredible organizers is a North Star in every way

2) support next generation leadership through @runforsomething.net and @workingfamilies.org (bless these orgs for being ready for all of us to push forward) 🔥🌱

Argh exactly. Feeling anger and trying to channel it into something forward-moving… Three action steps and welcome others 1) work on a persistent grassroots campaign for all of us to call ALL Dem senators and say we demand new leadership that meets this moment or we hold them all responsible.

Every federal worker who has been clocking in without pay, every protestor who showed up for No Kings, every voter who turned out for Dems Tuesday, every community member confronting SS ICE in our streets - all of us braver & better than these "leaders."

"A lot of us are going to come under direct attack, and a lot of us are going to resist by building solidarity and sanctuary": the solidarity with those under attack has been one of the most beautiful responses to the consequences of the 2024 election.

I LOVED Zohran “wishing him well as a private citizen, and to never have to mention his name again” ❤️‍🔥😅
