like the last round of realignment was about access to media markets bc of fees from cable subscriptions, but this one has clearly always been about streaming and ratings, which means the big ten has a LOT more dead weight on it

but it does* matter in ratings, which affects revenue and should be the primary driver of business decision making

and just that intensity is harder to capture? because this seems to be built on the logic that interest in college football is distributed evenly geographically which is not the case

I also think that while nobody should be going into politics to get rich, you have to consider that most of them are talented people almost all of whom are giving up a LOT of money in some other business or nonprofit job. you get the congress you pay for
