Life is made of meetings and partings. That is the way of it. (he/him)
Again. You have an issue with what Sam said, take it up with him. My issue was with the idea that merely comparing a player’s radars from two consecutive seasons was sufficient to give you an accurate picture of anything.

If you have an issue with Sam’s analysis, you should take it up with him. I’m making one simple point - comparing a player’s stats from one season to another without any consideration for what factors might influence the differences is a severely limited and flawed way to analyse performance.

And if I can’t do all of those things you’ll refuse to accept that a player’s statistical output is influenced by more than their own efforts?

The “new argument” of “football is a team sport”. That new argument?

Except it wouldn’t. It would show his output has reduced. Productivity is a measure of output compared to input and the fact that you’re not considering changes to the input (as described in Kev’s other reply to you) shows why these over-simplistic comparisons are flawed

I’m genuinely curious what you think that would demonstrate.

Not really. You would just have to be able to provide me with the details of a small independent burger restaurant that allows people to eat for free. That seems comparable.

Guess you missed the words “burger chain” in the question…

For this analogy to work there must be some other burger chain that doesn’t charge for their food. Could you let me know which those are, please?

Britain is like this because our national politics is a shrivelled husk of democracy: a country where the world’s most poisonous media outlets fill a great gaping void empty of actual politics with relentless fear, incitement and hatred.

Have you see the article from FourFourTwo? They suggest that that’s a misquotation and that said “I earn it” (present tense).
