oh my gods i finally figured out why i was seeing so many NaNs in my rendering:
i was calling meshopt_encodeFilterOct incorrectly on my vertex data, but because i’m using the rust bindings of it the asserts were compiled out and didn’t break when my stride changed to an invalid binding

been writing a vulkan renderer in rust lately
using rust professionally i’m very confident in that but it’s my first time using a low level graphics api
i’ve gotten a triangle on the screen and rotating so i’m basically amazing
next up is displaying a mesh, so i’ve gotta figure out bindless stuff
