Alex Jeffrey Pretti was killed by a federal officer in Minneapolis. Family members say he was an intensive care nurse at a Department of Veterans Affairs hospital who cared deeply about people and was upset by President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown in his city.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Critics and supporters alike of the Trump administration have compared recent immigration enforcement actions to those of Nazi Germany.

Minnesota Now producer Aleesa Kuznetsov spoke with a Holocaust educator to dig into the parallels in speeches, recruitment ads and tactics.

An attempted traffic stop by two ICE agents did not involve the man they ultimately shot in north Minneapolis.

Details from a FBI agent's sworn affidavit contradict what DHS officials initially stated — and later repeated for several days — about the highly charged encounter.

More info on the incident I posted yesterday. This isn’t isolated, ICE doesn’t have a list of violent criminals. They don’t have judicial warrants. They’re terrorizing our community members, many who are US citizens. It’s not OK!!

Why can’t DHS just tell the truth? Is what they’re doing illegal? Is it unpopular? I have read so many lies from DHS that are contrary to what I have experienced in the real world. It’s impossible to trust what they say anymore. Did the founders need to lie to make their argument?
Every time the Trump regime uses the words "funded protesters" and "outside agitators" news outlets need to cut to this photo from last week.

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
