I might follow you if you're learning Japanese.
That's what I like tell myself at least. At any rate, I'm not too fussed about the slow reading (it's difficult text with a difficult subject matter). I'm just relieved there's some measurable improvement.

The mining will continue until they stop making words.

Exhilarating: there are squirrels!
Heartbreaking: there are no squirrels.

Shouldn't have believed a random website.

I've preserved my playlists with this nice open-source playlist exporter :
exportify.app

I don't think I'll pick up a new music streaming service for a while. I'm going to trawl through bandcamp trash like a starved rat and see what I find.

Clear your app data and log in again. I am pretty sure they are persisting the intelligibility client-side with no way to update the state if you verified on a different device first. It's a terrible implementation.

They're always trying to sell you something (or marketing their vlog channel or whatever).

I suppose we, too, could become business-level after we buy your $250 flashcards? Forgive me for being skeptical but this just reads like a shitty ad.

As you can see from the Wikipedia table, it's a strange naming convention in CSS (open/filled). The only other place I can see it used is in the ancient list-style-type. They didn't have to double down on it. Maybe they just wanted to make this reference.

To explain it:

Open: distinction between the hollow style (○, "open") and the solid style (●, "filled").

Sesame: the name of one of the emphasis marks used in various East Asian languages (a 傍点 in Japanese). Looks like a sesame seed.
