I think among the last big tells is that fine detail in the background gets weird (bottles, here), and fine detail in the foreground is smoothed over when they should be perfectly in focus and sharp.

Researchers used a giant statistical model of existing data to generate some ideas and the researchers selected one of them. They notably don't talk about the ones they tested that failed.
