I had to use telnet today to change the static IP address on a lab instrument and had flashbacks to using it in European internet cafes of the mid-1990s to check my university email. Gen X really is the transition generation. My Gen Z colleague looked at me impressed, as if I knew witchcraft.

I looked at AARP a lot differently when I learned it's a civil rights org that since 2014 has been run by two excellent Black women CEOs.
I got a some hate mail today.

An AARP card. With my name on it.

It's truly wild to me that my eye doctor can take a picture of the inside of my eyeball and see evidence of a scar on my retina, most likely from when I fell as a toddler and needed stitches on my skin.
