if anything, adding the cartoon's introduction sequence and the higher fidelity music makes the game's illogical NESness more jarring and harder to accept. The music less so than the extra voiceovers that are also in the 2013 remake but not this.

all that was "homebrew"ed here was transposing the game code to work on a super nes, but since you would have to burn it to a cartridge and then also supply extra weird stuff it is only really practical to play in an emulator and I don't understand why you'd want to since it's the same dumb old game

the older brother's band's 20-year-reunion concert is tomorrow (also today but today's variant is smaller) and I suspect becoming compelled to attend even though I mostly went out of a sense of obligation/guilt before that would be 100% now. what amuses me is that the Dennis DeYoung concert was at the free to observe "Wolf Den" rather than the dedicated concert arena which you need to pay for entry to, and based on DeYoung's corny remarks amidst the concert he wasn't aware it was free, even though I was more interested in that one.
