Yeah, since the popup program didn't add any new lanes, just made old ones wider. They can't get rid of any.

So they're removing all the lines (both old white and the yellow) where the pop up program was and replacing them with white.

It's just replacing it with the white lines right?

Maribyrnong got about 60m of protected lanes from the state pop up program. City of Maribyrnong removed that when they resurfaced. Other than WGTP on Hyde st. I'm pretty sure Maribyrnong is net negative protected lanes for the last 4 years.

No inclination for fixing them coming from above so far. Do you find them equally bad? Or are some worse than others?

It makes for a moodier photo though with the lights and without the pile up of bikes I saw when I rode past.

Ooph, yeah I guess that whole place is pretty much a shrine to gluten containing things, with their pizza too. There's kindred too just off the path.

We plan to measure the pollution soon. We'd have rather seen improvements to the existing offroad bike path underneath and more protected lanes put in elsewhere to build a network.
We hope the novelty of this brings enough riders to drive further investment.

Should be open now

Still confused about what's going to be open and what's not. I'm guessing nothing from the Veloway connecting to Hyde st given how things looked this evening. But hopefully everywhere else.

Well that confirms it!

Certainly more exciting than a tunnel that spends most of its time elevated. Looking forward to some more truck bans too.
