BREAKING: The Kansas City Current are finalizing a deal to hire Chris Armas as head coach, sources tell ESPN. Armas most recently coached MLS' Colorado Rapids. KC Current won the #NWSL Shield in 2025.

Number 16 pick, and the first GK off the board, is Niklas Herceg for FC Dallas. Solid shot stopping but not really a notable distributor. Only a sophomore, so could maintain his eligibility.

Nicholas Simmonds goes 3rd, again to Dallas. I feel like Simmonds is a bit of a trap pick. He ran very hot against the numbers but he has low shot volume, low xG, mid xG/Shot, and doesn't make a difference on set pieces or in 1v1 battles. I understand a lot of teams like him but the numbers don't

Ricky Louis is next. Very dribbly wide forward type. Feels like Dallas gave up a lot to move up from 12th to 2nd, especially since they have the 3rd pick. Not a huge fan of this one.

Gotta say, I don’t miss the days of picks having to make speeches immediately after getting selected. But I do miss knowing when a pick was actually made in the moment.
Never forget: The SuperDraft can be sidelined, marginalized, downgraded to a virtual event, relegated to a Zoom call.
No matter. It will survive. It will continue to provide MLS teams with starting-caliber players and occasionally even highly profitable outbound sales. It is written.

I still don't understand how #FCDallas didn't go back and get Che this winter.
NEWS: #RBNY has signed defender Justin Che from Brondby IF. Che has signed a three-year deal through the 2028 season, with an option for 2029. The 22 year-old was a member of FC Dallas as a homegrown player from 2020 to 2023.
