Does little to tackle the fundamental root cause of much of UK’s problems: inequality and the poverty it drives. Utterly hopeless from Labour. Again.

But the three judges themselves have a known rightwing, pro-government track record. They are there for a reason. It’ll be interesting to see the outcome and subsequent fallout if it’s what folk are anticipating.

Sorry, it wasn’t a personal dig at you, it’s just that I’m not sure the apartheid era justice system is the first place I’d look for inspiration - but you’ll know that better than me.
(for my record, I visited Jo’burg from Mozambique in 1979 and was shocked by the experience - never forgotten it).

Absolutely true I agree but the justice system as a whole needs fixing, not tinkering with bits of it. This solves nothing. What’s the point of speeding up justice if the convicted have nowhere to go? How does that help victims? The justice system is where it is due to 15 years of funding cuts.

In the apartheid era there were many things you didn’t have. A fair justice system was one of them. There are arguments for no juries in certain kinds of cases that are complex, like fraud and other financial crimes, but speeding up trials will send more people to prison faster. They’re full! So …?
November 25, 2025 at 11:00 PM
Well, one thing he’s already said before is the prisons are full. So, where are you going to put all the people more efficiently processed and sent to serve time in prison? You need to look at the justice system as a whole not just a bit of it. It’s been chronically starved of funding for 15 years.

So, assuming all that works well, where are you going to put all the people sent to serve time in prison? They’re full.

Selling weapons to regimes bombing people doesn’t strike me as very smart either.

Surprise! What’s it Denis Healey (I think) once said, if you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. That’s advice this mess of a government has yet to learn, even better, don’t start digging in the first place!

Cut him some slack guys, he was just doing it for a laugh … 👀

🔥 Sounds great. Booking my summer holiday there!

Well. The MAGA morons shouldn’t have voted in this regime, which seems made up of traitors and vatniks.

Call a spade a spade. This is corruption. Nothing else.
November 25, 2025 at 12:27 PM
Enough of your corruption #SamirShah and #RobbieGibb, just go. NOW. And take your cronies with you.
