I learned to drive on even older Benz and it took like a couple hours max before I autmatically knew what all of those buttons and switches did without even thinking of it/ looking at them.

I think collective "we" already knew this - physical controls let you operate other systems from muscle memory without needing to take attention away from the road. This is not possible with touchscreens.

I got to the airport early yesterday so I walked a few miles back and forth around the terminal and noticed a decent number of people doing the same thing as me.
There's no reason for any of this performative stuff. If you want to get a workout at the airport, knock yourself out.

That being said if you want to workout at the airport nobody is going to stop you - larger airports are a great place to walk/stair climb etc.
