Getting on. Well, getting by. From the West Midlands. Now in London's least fashionable borough.
A lot of vertical hair going on there.

If only I'd seen Métal Urbain live, sigh. I just picked a random band that would provide some "contrast/shade/light" with the other acts I'd pretended to see.

I could never get the hang of Nick Cave. Then again, my taste in everything is reliably MOR.

His last recorded performance was the theme song for Dad's Army. He had nothing left to give.

My parents' massive and very old hand-me-down wireless had various international cities on the dial but you couldn't even find local radio stations on it.

Nothing better than sitting in a garden shed listening to The Budget on a crackly transistor radio on a cold winter afternoon. This is lost to future generations unless we act now.

Andy Stewart and the missing troosers, Kenneth McKellar, Moira Anderson, the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. Proper clean Hogmanay entertainment with no swearing or lewdness.

One of the ~celebrity make up artists said that the beauty industry philosophy is "create a state of chaos". I suppose this means products are always being discontinued or choice is withheld so customers end up shelling out for useless replacements. Capitalist hassle maan.

My go to was Max Factor pan stick foundation because I've got a florid complexion and Nouveau Beige was the only shade that cooled and evened it out. Very popular product that had been going for donkey's years and of course it *had* to be discontinued despite a lot of complaints.
