My new favorite thing is when small children who were not alive for the 1st term of the Obama administration correct me when I tell them my dog’s name is Barack Obeagle. They always follow it with, “No, it’s Barack Obama!”

I’ve got coffee ready in my kitchen & chores waiting for me… but Della has taken some time away from her Costco to sit in my lap, so the coffee and chores will wait.

Della Adores her Costco! But she did attempt to jump through the concession stand window so it had to be moved to a safer location.

Tonight Joey went to Petco, his 1st real ride in his van. He successfully got into the van and on the ride he laid down completely with his head resting on his paws, that’s something he couldn’t do in my Outback. The van is worth every penny!

We did it! Joey fits in his 48”x33” crate & his beagle brother, Barack Obeagle, fits in his 24”x18” crate next to him. We can fit some extra friends too!

Don’t mind me, I’m just a childless middle aged woman up late shopping for minivans because I need something to comfortably shuttle around my dogs. My 2.5 yr old Newfoundland no longer fits in my Subaru, or any Subaru model for that matter.

Did Joey & I just invent a Coffee Table Dog Bed?

Brace yourselves, I’ve got good news… today is Joe Beagleden’s gotcha day! It might be hard to tell which picture is from when he was 10 weeks and which was from today.

He was 25 lbs when I picked him up at 10 weeks & was 128 lbs on his 1st birthday.

The day the snow left in 2023 was the worst day of Joey’s short life (to that point).

I picked Joey up in Ohio and drove him back to MN in February 2023 (record breaking snowy winter). His 1st day waking up with me was the 1st time he ever saw snow. He knew life would be pretty fun with his new lady & he hadn’t even met the beagles yet!

Many years ago I was complaining to my sister about shoveling, she had a new BF at the time and said, “don’t worry Betsy someday you’ll meet a man.” Well, I’ve finally met him. He doesn’t do the shoveling, but he parallel plays with me while I’m shoveling and doesn’t get too cold.

The Cedric Adams Sandwich has been a post turkey dinner staple in my family since my grandma clipped the recipe out of the Minneapolis Tribune (pre-merger) & typed it up for friends & family!

Joey got his 1st drafting wagon and will be hauling Barry around, at Barry’s command in no time!
