Gene Hackman single-handedly carries some of cinema’s greatest films but it is his turn in the often overlooked POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE that comes to mind when I hear his name, such an assured yet tender presence in a film that so sharply understands the joys and burdens of the job. Heartbroken.

A little late posting, but it was my pleasure to host our Empire VIP Flow event with filmmaker Gints Zilbalodis. A remarkable, staggeringly beautiful film about a small black cat, a natural disaster, and the terrifying process of trusting and accepting others.

A little late posting, but it was my pleasure to host our Empire VIP Flow event with filmmaker Gints Zilbalodis. A remarkable, staggeringly beautiful film about a small black cat, a natural disaster, and the terrifying process of trusting and accepting others.
My main takeaways from the first six feverish hours of this season are that Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey are having a ball, the staff need more screentime, it goes darker and is a better season because of it, and Aimee Lou Wood would be great value on a night out. Some more organised thoughts here:
