Trump calls Somali immigrants “garbage.” His VP cheers him on. Meanwhile, families are being torn apart, asylum is being shut down, aid is being gutted, and the military is firing on survivors in the water.

Cruelty is becoming national policy—silence is complicity.

Trump’s Dehumanization Campaign Is Becoming Normalized
A president who calls immigrants “garbage” is dangerous enough. A country that grows desensitized to it is even more frightening.

Hey y’all, it’s Bandcamp Friday again. So if you by the Anxious Bench EP today, 100% of the proceeds will help us get back into the studio

@eviedc.bsky.social says that we play "winter music"—good for quiet evenings at home when it’s too cold outside to do much—so maybe today is perfect

The internet is nothing but AI slop. Just searched for "how does air pollution affect plants and got a number of sites filled with junk statements like "the more plants are damaged, the less CO2 they take in. Consequently, the CO2 goes into the atmosphere and destroys the ozone layer."

This whole thread explains something that I've been mulling over for some time -- specifically, why so many people would choose to elect a criminal for their leader. Thanks to @resistrebelrevolt.net for laying it out so eloquently.
Earlier I distinguished the difference between socialism & social democracies (nordic capitalism). Someone asked me why socialism is bad.

In good faith I answered with this thread: 🧵👇

Then they blocked me. 🥸

I wonder if this was a block-worthy assessment of socialism. 🤷‍♀️

If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

A few years back my daughter was a big fan of baking and we were making new recipes every weekend. Someone was downsizing and gave us a huge box of baking sheets, pans, & molds that were barely used. You can make requests too.

3/ Public empowerment is important, folks. Reducing the amount of respiratory aerosol particles you inhale in shared spaces will dramatically reduce your risk of infection. Increase ventilation when possible, wear an N95, KN95 or better mask/respirator in shared public spaces, improve filtration.
