i think if you look at the spec sheet and think “oof!” rather than “I Don’t Really Know What These Numbers Mean Without Digital Foundry Telling Me,” the Steam Machine isn’t going to be for you in the first place. i think it’ll be a good fit for a lot of folks, though!

besides, i think this will appeal most to players who want a PC to compliment their console. you can play the latest, most intense AAA games on your PS5 Pro/PS6, and use your Steam Machine for everything else, with all the benefits of playing on PC

yeah the specs aren’t great for a device releasing in the year of our lord 2026 but the overall experience and package can bring underpowered hardware a lot of success. this is kind of uncharted territory, so who knows!
