“Emily and I share a deep commitment to public service and have both worked through the complex realities of local government: balancing budgets, weighing competing needs, and always keeping the common good at the center of every decision.” ~Diane Wulf, Onalaska City Council Member

Derrick Van Orden do your job and extend ACA tax credits. People in La Crosse showed up because health care costs are on the line.

I had a great day in Portage County yesterday; first stop was the Wisconsin Rural Water Association where I toured their facility and talked water. WRWA is making sure local water plants and waste water plants have the resources they need to provide safe water to our local communities.

Since I haven't figured out how to clone myself, I tried my best to get to both the Dunn County Dems Holiday party AND Rep Jodi Emerson's event in Eau Claire. Bonus was that both events were at local breweries!

I ended the weekend with a meet and greet in La Crosse last night. We packed Beth's lovely home despite it being a chilly Sunday night while overlapping the end of the Packer game! Thank you to the two other hosts: Emily and Kim too! (Kim and I didn't get any picture together though...)

My heart aches for the Jewish community after the antisemitic violence in Australia on the first night of Hanukkah. A holiday meant to honor light, resilience, and faith should never be marked by fear or hatred.
I stand in solidarity with the Jewish community today and always.

I joined the Wisconsin Farmers Union state convention yesterday. It was a day filled with policy discussions, learning about the top issues facing farmers, and making connections with local farmers.

I experienced Sparta Kriskindlmarkt for the first time last night and it was so much fun! What a great way to draw people to your community, showcase your small businesses, and bring people together. And despite it being it 2°, it was packed!

Despite it being a chilly day, I kept busy throughout the district! I had lunch with the Osseo Mayor and Chamber President, both who are doing exciting things for their community and putting Osseo on the map. Don't sleep on Osseo, folks!

Thank you, Dave, for your endorsement!

Eau, what a night! It was so fun to serve a full house at 3rd & Vine tonight! I met lots of new people and chatted with friends who stopped by. If you haven't been to 3rd & Vine, you need to go...such a cozy neighborhood spot.

Eau Claire County Democratic Party filled the hall of the Labor Temple last night. We elected new exec board members and heard from state electeds. Spring candidates were collecting signatures and we had numerous local electeds in attendance. It was a joyful night!

YES, I am running for U.S. Congress to defeat Derek Van Orden. It’s come to my attention that some voters were confused by news stories about my leaving the Council presidency, so I want to make it clear: I’m in this until the end.
Let’s defeat DVO together.

DVO would rather take a punch than have a public town hall.
Interesting🤔

Through the power of friendship bracelets and handmade pins, this campaign is determined to connect with every voter—and have fun doing so! Thank you, everyone, for your art and support!

It is time to step down to step up. After nearly 8 years of service, I am not seeking re-election. We have been through tough times as a community with COVID-19, attacks on our immigrant community, and the loss of two hospitals. It’s time for a new chapter of service—but EC will not be forgotten.
EC City Council President will not run for re-election
Current City Council President Emily Berge has announced she will not be seeking another term.

Join neighbors in La Crosse in collecting men’s cold weather clothing and monetary donations tomorrow (Friday, November 28th) from 10am to noon in front of Valley View Mall. This clothing drive will support WINN (What I Need Now) in their efforts to foster community through action.

Hey, hey! Join the Berge For Congress campaign next Wednesday for a cozy, crafting night! All ages are welcome. And all crafting skill levels are welcome. (I am on the lowest level of crafting skills). See you there!

As your representative, I would be out there organizing our water defenders and being loud to protect our area's natural resources. I would not vote in favor of any bill that decimates our beautiful rivers and lakes.

What a week. For the first time since I announced I spent most of a week out of the district. I was invited to DC to attend a Patriotic Millionaires event on taxing the rich. They are advocating for federal legislation that will level the playing field between regular folks and the ultra wealthy.

“Local support has been a central point of my campaign. Throughout Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District, I have had the privilege of running a grassroots campaign that focuses on real people and every day issues. “ -Emily Berge, your local congressional candidate

Grateful to have the support of Mayor Shaundel, he is a testament to the power of local organizing. Our campaign is centered around putting the needs of those who live here above corporate interests. Which is why I’m so proud to have the support of local leaders like Shaundel.

I am working so hard to meet people where they are at and to build a people powered campaign. This is how we will win in August and then we will carry the momentum to November to flip this seat. And I promise it will not stop there. I will always center the people of this district.

Onward!

I attended "Encounters" a local art show organized by JONAH and hosted at Eau Claire Area Hmong Mutual Assistance Association. It was a powerful display of the different cultures that make the Valley so special. Thank you, JONAH!
