And they’re probably both doing Lou Reed…

That was my problem too. It seemed like it was straining for effect or something. His voice is growing on me. It’s like a more baritone Tom Verlaine voice, shaky and unsteady—veering from pleasant to awkward often within the same line.

“Au Pays Du Cocaine” is the one that kind of snaps it into focus for some people. Probably the most user friendly track.

It took me a few listens. Hated it on first play.

#Top5FirstViews November
(I skipped October because it would have been all AFI FEST, this list is still mostly new release catch up.)
1. MEGADOC (Figgis)
2. ANGEL GUTS: RED PORNO (Ikeda)
3. DIE MY LOVE (Ramsay)
4. THE WAR GAME (Watkins)
5. IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT (Panahi)

When I sorted my favorite 90s movies by “least popular” on Letterboxd, THE DREAMLIFE OF ANGES came up as number one, so that would be my answer to this prompt as well. I guess people don’t really know that film anymore—hopefully someone will put it out on a new disc.
