A red knitted cap with a pointed crown with a braided tassel. It's titled "Melt the ICE Hat" and it's by YarnCultMN n the 1940’s, Norwegians made and wore red pointed hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against Nazi occupation of their country. Within two years, the Nazis made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law to wear, make, or distribute. As purveyors of traditional craft, we felt it appropriate to revisit this design. The sample shown was knit in Blue Sky Fibers Skyland for the DK version. All proceeds from the sale of this pattern go to the LynLake community of businesses who will distribute the funds to those impacted by the actions of ICE.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Best part of gardening club? One of the first people I met was an elderly lesbian who, within 5 minutes, was telling me a story about how she and her girlfriend were in North Ireland and had to teach a confused Irishman how to change a flat tire.
