I have taken the kids to school, been for a run, done some work, cooked breakfast and eaten lunch, done a load of washing and tidied the house and this is what Sparky The Cat has done in this time.

Just discovered Wadjet Eye games.
A collection of deliberately retro point and click LucasArts adventure games. Great storylines. Reasonable puzzles.
I'd start with The Excavation of Hobbs Barrow which is folk horror, but this Blackwell series about a medium and her spirit guide are great too.

This is one of the best books I've ever read and I can't stop thinking about it.
It's about the nature of neanderthals but is just as much about epistemology and what humanity is and indeed if it is anything at all.

We're with German friends we made a lifetime ago while working in Addis Ababa. I used to joke their national anthem was Wind of Change and they all had to sing it every morning. Philip just gave me this from a recent interview he did with the Scorpions.

This is absolutely fascinating. A real challenge to the recent idea Neanderthals were really similar to us and were absorbed into the modern human population. Slimak argues convincingly for a deeply strange and other sort of intelligence.

If illegal immigration is reduced there'll just be more demand to reduce overall immigration, because the drive is predominantly about a desire to reduce the number of people with foreign origins in Britain.
This will damage the economy.
Some people who want this will see this as worth that.
