You are not, and neither is Aaron, I reckon... but this is part of the issue: talks of moving entire megalopolises routinely ignore how hard and costly (in human, economic and fiscal terms) this will/would be - thus letting people believe that "we'll just adapt"

this is, of course, taken into account in what is called "life-cycle emissions"
