Merriam-Webster Website Nauseous vs. Nauseated: Usage Guide Nauseous is most often used to mean "physically affected with nausea," especially in phrases like "feeling nauseous" and "the patient became nauseous," but this use was in the past widely considered incorrect. The recommendation was that nauseous be used only to mean "causing nausea or disgust," as in "a nauseous smell" or "nauseous hypocrisy," and that nauseated be used to describe someone feeling the stomach distress of one affected by nausea. Some people still make this distinction, with medical professionals perhaps making up the greatest portion of them. Meanwhile, the "causing nausea or disgust" meaning of nauseous is losing ground to nauseating, with repulsive smells and repugnant behavior tending to be described as nauseating rather than nauseous.

As George suggests, their perspectives have only gotten worse since this study was published in 2013.
A remarkable study in Perspectives on Politics, among the very few to have penetrated this secretive world, found that the ultra-rich have radically different political views from the great majority. The multimillionaires it interviewed, in stark contrast to mere earthlings, saw budget deficits as the most important of the issues it listed, and climate breakdown as the least. They were far more likely to insist that social security and federal healthcare should be cut, and far less likely to believe that the unemployed should have a “decent standard of living”, or that there should be more regulation of oil companies, banks and health insurers. They were fiercely opposed to redistribution.

First album I purchased:

Diesel and Dust (1987) by Midnight Oil.

Put it on layby in the local music shop at Caboolture Park Shopping Centre (Queensland).

Took two months of pocket money but after getting to see the concert for a Christmas present, I had to have the accompanying album.

(Hours ago - we lost power to the whole town.)
3 hail stones on a glass table next to a golf ball for comparison. Two of them are about 1/3 the size and the third is 1/2 the size of the ball.

This is going to get a certain group (blue MAGA, etc.) very excited. But:

* Environment-killing, creative-robbing A.I. is not a "personal peccadillo."

* If the people in "trenches" with you are willing to trade any human rights (i.e. trans rights or bodily autonomy) you ain't saving shit.

Dehumanising people will always lead to these abuses. Too many were just waiting for the green light...
Among the most upsetting aspects of this rising crisis of violence against immigrants and women is how predictable it was. Of course men believe that if they pose as the state they can perpetrate the same violence the state often does to terrorize and violate women and victims, especially victims in more precarious positions. But unmasking ICE isn’t enough. The agency must be abolished, and the root causes of state and carceral violence must be addressed.

Just watched the "Night Will Fall" documentary.

Maddening to see the politics & bigotry that shelved the original production in 1945.

Frustrating to know current genocide is being denied in the same way.

From the Civil War Diary of C F Boyd pp. 120-121:
Saw one old Negro whose name is “Ephraim” and says he is over 90 years old and he does not look a day younger. His head is white and he is only able to see a little. His hands and fingers are hard as bone and all out of shape with unrequited toil and almost [a] century of servitude. Another old Negro named “Peter” said he was 78 years old. They were born in Va and came to this Plantation in 1825 they said. We asked old “Ephraim” why his Master ran away. He said Well sah I spose he thought it better to run away den to make a bad “stan” sah. With these old people were a few small Negro children from two years old up to six or seven years. There was no money in these poor old worn out slaves and the cruel and barbarous master had abandoned them to their fate. As I looked at their worn out hands and fingers and bodies I thought of the long cruel years of bondage while under burning suns and in cold and heat they had labored for this hellish system of human slavery and now in the close of nearly a century they were only a few hours from absolute want and the misery of hunger. This Plantation has plenty of forage and food but a few days will clean it all up. We found bushels of yams and Potatoes (sweet) Genl Sparrow owned 500 Negroes. Among a band of contrabands that came in today was a bright little girl whose hair hung to her shoulders and was just a little wavy. Her features were not like a Negro but were sharp and clear while her eye was dark blue and yet she was a slave. Her mother was along and looked a little like she had African blood. She said this was her little girl and that she had two more daughters grown up and the father of all three was her Master who classed them all as his slaves. A soldier who stood by and heard the Mother tell this story exclaimed in the fervent patriotism of his feelings By G-d I'll fight till hell freezes over and then I'll cut the ice and fight on.

I will never get a pic of them together because Honey (2yo) just wants to play but Sage (10yo) is a grumpy old man. So one lives upstairs and the other lives downstairs.
